Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment.


This is an 18-month training position open to Journeyman Lineman candidates only . All Journeyman Linemen without prior Journeyman Lineman Transmission experience will enter the department as a Journeyman Lineman Transmission Trainee.

The successful candidate will receive 18 months of transmission-specific on-the-job training to develop the skills and proficiencies required of a Journeyman Lineman Transmission. Upon successfully completing all training requirements, the employee will be promoted to a Journeyman Lineman Transmission position and awarded the corresponding rate of pay.

Requirements

• A high school diploma, GED or proof of equivalent.
• Must be a Journeyman Lineman which includes completion of a formal training program for a Journeyman Lineman.
• Must meet examining board review of skills and experience and will be required to pass testing through Rocky Mountain Power.
• Must pass a verbal and practical test administered by the Transmission Lineman Subcommittee.
• Must be NCCCO crane certified (or industry equivalent certification). Must have a valid card or be registered to complete the class within one year of acceptance into the job classification.
• Satisfactorily complete the transmission lineman training workbook and obtain signatures from Line Working Foreman Transmission, General Foreman Power Delivery – Transmission and Manager.
• Must have hot stick training and experience.
• Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
