The First Annual Woodstock Wedding Walk took place last Sunday and unlike most bridal expos, it was held outdoors on the historical Woodstock Square in Woodstock, IL. White tents lined the inner walking area allowing Brides-to-Be and their family and friends to leisurely walk among the displays of nearly 60 local businesses providing wedding-related products and services.
It was the first of its kind and was organized by Dana Brandt, President and Founder of the Woodstock Wedding Network and owner of Happily Ever After Photography. Dana has always been a person who believes in helping others and giving back to the community. The expo definitely proved that with it helping local business showcasing themselves and raising $500.00 in raffle ticket sales that was donated to Turning Point Women & Children’s Shelter.
There was quite a bit to see and do … a flash mob dance with several ladies dressed in bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses, a dove release by White Dove Releases and a wedding gown fashion show. The grand prize was drawn at the end of the afternoon and brides continued to walk through to the very end.
This was the event we have participated in that required a tent and although it required a bit more set up time, it was such a fun experience! Balloons Chicago provided a balloon sculpture that gave the finishing touch to our displays. It was such an enjoyable afternoon with so many people stopping at our tent to learn about our event scrapbooks and showing interest in our work. We so love what we do!
A big thanks to everyone who stopped to talk to us — it was such a pleasure meeting you!!
