The Scramble we attended on Friday, Nov. 5th, is a networking luncheon event that the McHenry County Chamber of Commerce holds twice a year.  You find yourself meeting and networking with people at every turn and you scramble from one table to another throughout this progressive lunch.  While at each table, you have only but a few minutes to tell everyone you’re seated with who you are and what benefits your company offers to them.  It’s a fantastic way to meet people and find out more about the businesses within your own community.  

Social networking via internet sites are great, but meeting people face to face and experiencing the passions they have for their business is amazing.  We met so many talented business people that day and we look forward to strengthening our relationships and helping them capture some of the moments taking place within their business and personal lives!

When food is involved, you’ll generally have a 3 course meal — you sit at a different assigned table for each course and are then given a 3 minute opportunity to introduce yourself to your table and describe your services. 

It’s fast moving.  And believe me, if you didn’t have your elevator speech ready for the occasion, you’ll certainly have it down pat by time the meeting is over!

We were invited to the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce Scramble held on April 23, 2010 and mingled with nearly 200 different businesses.  It was such an enriching experience to meet with such a diverse number of people and have the opportunity of developing new business relationships!

One of the key messages given during the day was not to use this meeting as a way to push your business off to others… but to look for businesses you can genuinly HELP.  Why?  Because the returns back to you will be three fold.
