Family celebrations are always a happy occasion … and that’s what Dayna and Tony’s wedding shower was today.  The day was filled with hugs, kisses, smiles and laughter as they were showered with loving attention and with just over 80 people in attendance, that sure was ALOT of loving attention!

The Bride-to-Be loves things that have a combination of vintage, simple and contemporary looks.  Her mother, future mother-in-law and step-mother went to great lengths to create table settings that reflected this blend of styles.  Wrought iron pedestal serving centerpieces were arranged with white chocolate and caramel apples wrapped in white netting and bows. In addition to the traditional celebration cake, 3-tiered servers with assorted homemade cookies, cheese cake, chocolate covered strawberries and other goodies were brought out to each table.  These weren’t your typical silver service tiers … these were homemade with 3 tiers of various vintage platters connected with various stemmed glassware and cups!

After all of the speeches were finished, the food was eaten, the presents were opened and the early good-byes were made, Scrapping on the Spot presented the future Bride and Groom with their completed scrapbook that reflected the blend of contemporary and vintage.  Dayna was absolutely amazed that her keepsake was ready for her to take home and immediately share with others.  As she read some of the tags she giggled and laughed and was filled with immense happiness.  And we were too!!

Their special day was held at Gatti’s Restaurant in Downtown Downers Grove — a cute little place that has a full service bar on one side and table seating on the other side.  The feeling is contemporary European with earthen tones and chalkboards displaying their extensive menu.  It was a perfect place for a perfect afternoon.

CONGRATULATIONS Dayna & Tony!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness and everlasting love!
