That’s exactly what took place at this afternoon’s Bridal Fair held by Park Place Banquet Facility located at 406 W. Woodstock Street in Crystal Lake.   Brides-to-be were greeted by the beautiful sounds of chamber music and a room filled with ideas and choices of services and products for their special day.  Vendors were carefully chosen and included local businesses providing cakes, chocolates, massage, travel, hotel accommodation, bus services and formal wear.  Businesses of particular interest to many of the people who attended were:

And yes, Scrapping on the Spot was also there!  It was great talking to all of the Brides-to-Be and the family and friends that came with them.  All were very interested in the bridal shower services we provide and loved the fact that we could customize a scrapbook, take the photographs and complete their scrapbook during their shower.  Brides also found great interest in the handcrafted gifts they could give to their bridal party and families — all done to match their wedding design and theme.

We love telling people’s stories through their eyes and helping them preserve their moments in time…. and we’d love to help tell yours!

Scrapping on the Spot was approached by the publisher of a local newspaper not long ago who was interested in our business and wanted to share our story with their readers.  We are excited and honored to share this article with you!

The event attracted approximately 140 people which included about 75 children ranging in ages from newborn to early teens.  Nearly everyone there was anxious to see Santa arrive so they could tell them what they wanted for Christmas.   He arrived just after breakfast and was greeted with a very excited round of applause and smiling faces.

Scrapping on the Spot was there to capture those beautiful smiles with Santa and provided parents with photos of their children with Santa after the event.   We thoroughly enjoyed sharing the happiness of the day and look forward to being a part of it next year!

One of their annual events is Breakfast with Santa scheduled early in December of each year which includes a buffet breakfast, singing Christmas carols and you guessed it, the chance for children to tell Santa what they have on their Christmas wish list.

This year, Scrapping on the Spot was asked to be a part of their program to take pictures with Santa.  We set up our tripod and snapped photos of over 160 boys & girls ranging from just a few months old to early teens, with some Grandparents joining in the photo.  We started printing photos as soon as we could and and had them ready for parents and grandparents to take home with them after the event.

The day was filled with holiday cheers and smiling faces and we’re looking forward to being a part of this annual event next year !

The McHenry County Bridal Expos have proven to be extremely successful and provide an excellent variety of local business vendors that give any bride a complete start-to-end solution to planning their special day.  There were tasting samples of food, wedding cupcakes and a variety of chocolates and other goodies. Raffle prizes ranged from free massages to discounts on travel and hotel accommodations.

Our table featured information and examples of our Event Scrapbooks and specialty picture frames,  as well as a few handcrafted gift items that make excellent bridal party thank you gifts.

If ever there were a most adorable couple in the world, Lauren and David would certainly qualify for the title.  They will be exchanging vows next month and the excitement really began to show during their wedding shower this afternoon.  It was held in one of the lovely upstairs banquet rooms at the Makray  Memorial Golf Club in Barrington, Illinois, with spectacular views of the golf greens from its private balcony.

Scrapping on the Spot created an event scrapbook to capture their day using the bridal colors of black, lime green and white.  The room was decorated with beautiful white and lime green daisies, gift boxes of homemade chocolate fudge tied with lime green bows and a variety of accents that made the room come alive with color and celebration.  It was such an enjoyable afternoon with an abundance of smiles from all who attended.

Maria del Rosario and JoseLuis

The joy of exchanging wedding vows is one of the most important events to take place in anyone’s lifetime. It marks a new beginning of life together, new experiences and the prospect of planning and achieving great things.

This past weekend, Maria del Rosario and JoseLuis celebrated their love for each other by renewing the wedding vows they took 25 years ago. They strolled down memory lane with a full re-enactment of their wedding day with bridesmaids, groomsmen and all of the festivities  that go with a wedding celebration.

The happy couple were radiant as they entered the banquet hall to the applause of nearly 250 people who came to share their event. They were reflective as the priest blessed them and took them on a journey back in time by exchanging vows, exchanging rings, praying while bound together with the rosary lasso and pronouncing their dedication to each other with the exchange of coins (arras).

Up until this time, family and friends remained quiet as they watched the re-kindling of love and commitment. But the silence was soon replaced with cheers as the first dance began and everyone joined in a great evening of dancing, live music and excellent food and drink.

The Event Scrapbook we created for their anniversary reflected their bridal colors of silver and purple and included pictures of some of the most important people in their lives. Everyone who signed tags, note cards or autograph pages were excited to be a part of their 25th Anniversary keepsake … and we were just as excited and honored to have been asked to create it !

Our Mother’s Day brag books and mini brag books seemed to be the most popular gift item and several custom orders were placed for customized items to be made.  Our feature attraction were our Event Scrapbooks — leaving your special occasion with a completed scrapbook is a great way to have an instant keepsake with all of your memories captured in one place.
