Sun Day Newspaper Interview

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

Any business owner — small or large — will tell you that it is a thrill and an honor to be interviewed for a news article in a local or national newspaper.   Knowing that somone is interested enough in your business brings home the value and purpose of what you provide as a product or service.

Scrapping on the Spot was approached by the publisher of a local newspaper not long ago who was interested in our business and wanted to share our story with their readers.  We are excited and honored to share this article with you!

The Rainbows Organization held their 3rd Annual Fundraiser on May 1, 2011 at the Ridgemoor Country Club in Harwood Heights. The Power of the Purse.. It’s All About Me! program consisted of a beautiful buffet lunch, a fashion show and specialty vendor tables. It was a great turnout with nearly 300 people attending.

Marengo Holiday Housewalk

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

Holly & Sharon

This past weekend marked the 19th Annual Holiday Housewalk in Marengo, IL.   Artisians from the local community have the opportunity to display their holiday wares and are placed in various locations throughout the Marengo area.   A map provides a snapshot of where the locations are and how to get to them — some areas afford a walk through the neighborhood to get to the next stop, some locations require a short ride to get to.   Some of the Victorian home owners open their doors and invite the public to view the beauty of a day gone by and artisians are placed in each home.  Several businesses, churches and other organizations also do the same.  All total, this year’s event offered over 60 artisians — all offering a beautiful selection of things to buy.  Read More→

Scramble

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

If someone were to tell you they went to a “Scramble,” what would you think it was?  A new breakfast cafe?  A rummage sale where you had to madly reach for something before someone else did?  A corn maze where you had to frantically find your way through people and corn stalks?

The Scramble we attended on Friday, Nov. 5th, is a networking luncheon event that the McHenry County Chamber of Commerce holds twice a year.  You find yourself meeting and networking with people at every turn and you scramble from one table to another throughout this progressive lunch.  While at each table, you have only but a few minutes to tell everyone you’re seated with who you are and what benefits your company offers to them.  It’s a fantastic way to meet people and find out more about the businesses within your own community.   Read More→

Cody’s Farm

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Cody’s Farm was one of nine farms that participated in this past weekend’s Marengo Autumn Drive. This event is held every year and offers families a variety of things to do, see and enjoy to celebrate harvest time.

Cody’s had lots of things for everyone to enjoy. The children enjoyed the hay rides, pumpkin launcher, petting zoo and corn maze. The adults savored home-made apple cider donuts and pies, made purchases of the beautiful assortment of fruits and veggies on display and strolled through the many vendor booths — each one displaying something different than the other and most of the merchandise being sold was hand-crafted.
