Skye & Jon’s Baby Shower

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Proud Parents Skye and Jon A new baby boy will arrive on Skye and Jon’s doorstep in November and they began their celebrations for the new arrival on October 3, 2010.  Nearly 100 people attended the beautifully planned shower which was organized by Skye’s mother Connie, and held at Finley’s Restaurant in Downers Grove, IL.  The room was decorated with blue balloons, hand crafted table centerpieces, home-made olive oil table gifts and other lovingly prepared decorations.  Family members drove in from other states to wish them well and provided them with a large array of baby gifts to give them a head start.  So many … there were TWO gift tables !! Proviso West H.S. All Class Reunion

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

Proviso West’s All Class Reunion was a great success thanks to the organizational efforts of George Roa – Class of 1996. The evening started with a beautiful food buffet offering a huge variety of things to choose from which was followed by a large dessert table. Our DJ, Ronald DiFiore – Class of 1977, provided a great assortment of tunes to dance to from all decades. As the evening progressed, re-aquaintences were made, tons of pictures were snapped and the Class Decade Photos were taken on the ballroom staircase.

Small Panther Page & Frame

Scrapping on the Spot was invited to the event to take photos during the night and to sell Panther Pages, frames and offer individual photos.  Our cameras were ready for anything — serious poses as well as fun photos with the use of our hats, oversized glasses and other fun things from our Fun Tub.

Angela’s 90th Birthday Party

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

As kids, we just couldn’t wait until we turned another year older because it marked “something” in our lives …. becoming a teenager, Sweet Sixteen, old enough to get our first job, old enough to vote, and old enough to drink legally.  We all look back with a mix of fondness and regret — many of us enjoyed those years, while wishing we could relive our youth once more.

Life moved quickly on.  Many of us went to college, many of us married and had children, and for some us, working just seemed to consume every extra minute we had.  It wasn’t until a special occasion or holiday arrived that we actually stopped and enjoyed life’s joys reflecting on the good times we’ve already experienced … remembering our own wedding day vows while attending a wedding celebration, recalling the joy of seeing our children blow out their first birthday candle, or smiling at the thought of all of those great times at the family’s annual picnic. Eliz’s Bridal Shower

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Eliz didn’t know that Scrapping on the Spot would be at her Bridal Shower until she arrived that day.  Her cousin wanted to give her a special gift and arranged an event scrapbook to remember  her special day.  She listened with anticipation as her cousin told her what was about to happen — Eliz was happy to hear that the next few hours would be captured with various photographs, but we knew she would be in for a great surprise at the end of the afternoon.

We immediately began capturing her day and started looking for the important people to feature prominently in her scrapbook. CLICK! Bride and Bride’s Mother.   CLICK! Bride and Maid of Honor.  CLICK! Celtic Club Masquerade Ball

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Example – Souvenier Picture Card

When the Sun City Celtic Club began planning for their 18th Annual Dinner Dance this year, the organizing committee wanted to make it really fun this year and decided to hold a Masquerade Ball!   Sheila Gillis, Celtic Club President, contacted us to see if we could provide a unique service to make this year extra special, but yet keep costs to an affordable level.  With more than 150 people attending, we came up with the perfect take-away …. a souvenir picture card!

Using green colored card stock, a title tag bearing the Club’s logo and sparkling shamrock embellishment, it was the ideal solution to carry both the Celtic Spirit and the dinner dance theme!  Read More→
